Terms & Conditions

These terms cover all forms of tattooing I offer, which includes body tattoos and permanent makeup. I want to make sure we’re both on the same page before you get tattooed by me. Please read my terms & conditions in full before paying your booking fee. By placing a booking fee, you are agreeing to these terms & conditions so if you have any questions about any of the terms, please ask before making payment. Failure to adhere to the terms may result in loss of booking fee if you are in breach of these terms.

  • It is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18. You must provide ID with proof of age. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your appointment and loss of your booking fee.

  • Please do not bring anyone with you to your tattoo appointment unless they are also booked in to have a tattoo on the day. The exception to this is if you have a disability and require an assistant, carer, or translator. I work best on a one-to-one basis – I tattoo slower when someone else is present, and I find it harder to focus, so I ask that you come alone for the best results possible for your tattoo. Many tattooists are more than happy for you to bring someone along to your appointment including other artists at New Leaf who would love to have you book in and bring someone along, so if you feel very strongly about this then I may not be the artist for you – and that’s great, you need to feel comfortable too.

  • I cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, please let me know so I can I can inform you of how it can impact you and your baby.

  • Before your appointment, you’ll be required to fill out a consent form. Some medical conditions and medications can mean I cannot tattoo you. This includes but is not limited to a history of heart problems, blood pressure issues, suffer from any blood borne viruses, any condition that can cause additional bleeding, epilepsy or seizures, diabetes, eczema, psoriasis or other skin condition, allergies, etc. Please enquire before making your booking if you are unsure.

  • I am unable to tattoo areas of skin that show any signs of damage, inflammation, or infection on the day of your appointment. This includes sunburn; eczema; psoriasis; areas of skin being treated with steroids, topical steroid withdrawal, acne; cuts; cracked, broken, or peeling skin; blisters; or scarring that hasn’t been approved by me to be tattooed. If you attend your appointment with an undisclosed skin condition that means we cannot proceed with the tattoo, you will lose your booking fee and will not be tattooed.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, your tattoo design will be shown to you on the day of your appointment when you arrive and any changes can be made on the day. All designs are drawn in my own style as can be seen on my portfolio, and in accordance with any references discussed. If you want to see your design before your appointment, please request this before paying the booking fee.

  • If you attend your appointment having applied numbing cream without it being agreed upon beforehand, you will lose your booking fee and I will be unable to tattoo you (especially if you use numbing cream brands that the FDA warn against using, including any numbing creams without specific ingredients listed). Numbing cream can cause reactions ranging from swelling to allergic reactions and can also complicate the healing process leading to your tattoo not healing as well. Complications associated with numbing cream are the client’s responsibility. Therefore, any client using numbing cream will need to pay for touch-ups at my full rate.

  • Aftercare must be followed, failure to do so can result in your tattoo healing badly, ink falling out, infection, etc. If it appears that aftercare is not followed, you will not be entitled to a free touch-up session.

Booking Your Appointment

  • A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your appointment and will be deducted from the total cost of your tattoo. The minimum booking fee is £40 with a full day booking fee being £150 as standard. This will differ for larger and multi-day projects.

  • Your quote given for your tattoo is an estimate based on multiple factors including sizing, placement, complexity of design, skin type, how much the customer moves during the session, number of breaks needed, etc. In order to ensure you get the best result possible, additional sessions charged at my standard rate may need to be booked in in order to finish your design.

  • If you need to reschedule your appointment, I kindly request a minimum of 14 days notice. However, if you need to reschedule within 72 hours of your appointment, you will lose your booking fee. If you no-show, you will lose your booking fee and may not be able to reschedule your appointment. If you need to reschedule your appointment more than twice, you will need to pay a new booking fee.
  • In the event of being unable to make your appointment, you may request that your booking fee and appointment time be transferred to someone else, though there is no guarantee that this will be accepted and is reviewed on a case by case basis.
  • When choosing a date for your tattoo, please make sure you give yourself enough time to have a good night’s sleep beforehand, a full meal, and time to get home and rest afterwards.

  • A full day session is usually 10:30am-4:30pm (I am happy to accommodate other times on request) and includes a 30 minute lunch break, plus shorter 5-10 minute breaks every hour.

  • I will send you a reservation email with the date and time of your appointment. Once your booking fee has been received, you will be sent an email confirming your booking.

  • I offer a free touch-up session if booked within three months of your appointment. Any touch-ups required as a result of poor aftercare, sun damage, etc are charged at my standard rate. Late cancellation or no-show for a touch-up session are subject to my standard terms & conditions. If you cancel/request to rearrange within 72 hours, or no-show, a deposit will be required for re-booking and the touch-up session will be charged at my standard rate.

  • If I need to reschedule for any reason, you will be given priority for rebooking. I reserve some days each month to accommodate this as it’s unavoidable from time to time. Tattooing is a very physically strenuous job and being so physically close to another person means that if I am unwell, I will reschedule to prevent spreading illness.

Your Appointment

  • You must bring photo ID with you on the day of your appointment for insurance purposes and age verification.
  • If you change your mind about what you want done, a new quote, new time slot, and new booking fee may be required (subject to my discretion). Minor design changes can generally be done on the day. Substantial redraws after I have begun drawing will be charged at my hourly rate in addition to the tattoo. This generally includes design changes that incorporate elements not mentioned at the time of booking, or a complete change of mind about design and/or placement. Large scale redraws on the day may not be possible due to time constraints and in the case of this happening, you’ll need to book a new appointment with a new booking fee.

  • If you feel unwell, please do not attend your appointment and give me as much notice as possible.

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are early, we have a small waiting area you’re welcome to sit in. If you’re more than ten minutes early, please come back closer to your appointment time – there are plenty of places to grab a drink or a snack from Gregg’s to Bread Source all within a few minutes of the studio.

  • If you’re more than 20 minutes late, you’ll be charged at my hourly rate in addition to the cost of your tattoo for the lost time. If there’s not enough time to complete your tattoo during the remaining session, you will lose your booking fee and I won’t be able to tattoo you.

  • When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in the waiting area at the front of the shop until you are called through.
  • While I always aim to run to schedule and respect your time, tattoo appointments can occasionally run over. This is rare, but sometimes unavoidable due to the unpredictability of working with skin and people. I use discretion when issues arise—whether it’s a client needing breaks, struggling to sit still, or miscommunication—and occasionally this affects the timing of the next session. I build gaps between appointments and limit my bookings to 2–3 clients per day to avoid delays. Despite planning with this in mind, timing can still occasionally shift. If you’re concerned about potential delays, I recommend requesting a morning session.

  • Avoid consuming alcohol, cigarettes, or energy drinks 24 hours before your appointment, and in the weeks following your appointment. Do not consume any alcohol or drugs before or during your appointment. If you arrive and appear to be intoxicated, you will lose your booking fee and be asked to leave.

  • Please eat before your appointment and bring along sugary snacks and drinks. For longer sessions, bring a lunch with you – there are also nearby shops and cafés that you can pop to if you need to grab something beforehand.

  • If additional sessions are required to complete your tattoo, these are charged at my standard hourly rate unless a price cap has been agreed upon.

  • I work in a smaller, open-plan studio – privacy screens can be put up during your appointment if you would like.

  • I often take photographs and videos during the tattoo process to post on my website and on social media. If you wish for me not to take photos or videos of your tattoo, you must request this before booking as a large factor in my pricing is being able to use my work to promote myself as an artist and, as with fine art, private commissions are available but are priced differently to pieces I can show in my portfolio. The only exception to this is tattoos in intimate areas – I will always ask for express permission to photograph any intimate tattoos before you book, as your consent and comfort is of the utmost importance to me. Those customers who have allowed me to take such photographs are also sent the photographs for approval beforehand – always censored, with the original images being permanently deleted. Videos of tattoos in intimate areas are never taken.

  • Tattoo aftercare instructions will be provided for you. It’s imperative that you follow aftercare advice as failure to do so can result in your tattoo healing badly or becoming infected. You will not be eligible for a free touch-up session if your tattoo shows signs of poor aftercare.

  • Your tattoo must be paid for in full before you leave the studio. I accept payment via bank transfer. I do not accept cash at this time. If you wish to discuss alternative payment arrangements, please enquire before booking.

  • I reserve the right to refuse tattoo you for any reason.
